Covid-19: Bangladesh records new single day infection rate

Dhaka, Aug 3: Creating a new record for daily infection rate in Bangladesh, 31.91 percent of Covid-19 tests conducted in between Sunday and Monday mornings came back positive.
According to official reports, 1,356 people tested positive and another 30 succumbed to the deadly virus during the aforementioned time period.
Health workers collected 4,238 samples from suspected patients between Sunday and Monday mornings.
The Asian nation has reported 242,102 confirmed cases from 1,193,544 tests till date. The overall infection rate is 20.28 percent.
Meanwhile, with the new deaths, the fatalities jumped to to 3,184.
Among the dead were 25 men and five women.
The overall deaths of men and women are 2,504 and 680 respectively.
