Bangladesh: Road mishap kills 5
Dhaka: At least five people were killed in a car cylinder explosion after the vehicle in which they were traveling crashed with a roadside tree in Bangladesh's Dhaka-Barishal Highway.
The incident took place at around 1530 hrs on Sunday. According to sources, the crash victims could not be identified immediately.
"A car from Kuakata was heading to Dhaka when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree. The gas cylinder in the car exploded igniting a fire", said Md Ataur Rahman, chief of Bhanga Highway Police Station.
Three people lost their lives on the spot while two others died while undergoing treatment at Bhanga Upazila Heath Complex.
